Yawm vs Quranly: choose the daily reading flow that fits you

Both Yawm and Quranly help you make room for regular Quran reading. Yawm brings together small reading goals, streaks, widgets, reading-linked vocabulary games, and an optional app blocker on supported iPhone and iPad devices. Quranly highlights reading goals, progress tracking, and friends-and-family features. This comparison is written by Yawm’s developer, dawm LLC, using our product and the official sources below; it is not an independent review.

The differences to consider first

This table focuses on verified points relevant to a daily routine. A feature absent from a product’s marketing page is not evidence that the app lacks it. We have not marked uncertain competitor features as unavailable.

Compare what makes you want to return tomorrow

In Yawm, choose a daily reading duration and continue from your reading place. A base reading threshold saves the day’s streak, and completing the full daily goal earns a bonus streak boost. Reminders and Ayah or streak widgets keep the routine visible between sessions. On iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 16 or later, you can opt into blocking selected distracting apps until you earn today’s base streak.

Quranly describes reading levels and tracking of verses, pages, time, and hasanat. Its website also describes a friends-and-family leaderboard. If private social accountability appeals to you, that is a concrete reason to look at Quranly rather than treating every habit app as interchangeable.

During your own evaluation, ask a small question: after closing the app, is tomorrow’s next step obvious? Try a target you could repeat on a weekday, not your longest possible session. A motivating interface is personal; a list of features cannot decide that for you.

Consider whether learning is part of your reading session

Yawm may suit you if you enjoy short games after reading: matching Arabic words and meanings, multiple-choice questions, and audio recognition. Practice connects to the verses from your reading sessions, with review to revisit words later. Word-level help in the reader lets you investigate a word before continuing the passage.

Vocabulary quizzes currently use English meanings, even when another app interface language is selected, and require an internet connection. Check these practical constraints if you mainly study in another language or read during an offline commute.

If all you want is a steady reading target, you may not need these activities every day. Compare the reader itself first, then decide whether optional practice is valuable for your routine. You can also use a separate Arabic course alongside either app.

Check the offer on your device before deciding

Yawm’s current offering is free and ad-free. Its published terms reserve the possibility of future paid features. Quranly’s App Store listing shows in-app purchases, including subscription options. A free download label does not establish which functions remain available without a purchase.

We do not publish a fixed price comparison here because store region, plan, and offers can change. Open the current listing and the purchase screen on your own device. Check the plan, billing interval, renewal terms, and included features before subscribing. For questions about a Quranly offer, use Quranly’s own support.

Use a three-session comparison

Choose the flow you can see yourself returning to. Our reason to build Yawm is to bring reading, meaning, and vocabulary practice into a manageable routine. If Quranly’s approach fits your day better, its official links are here so you can evaluate it directly.

  1. Session one: read a short passage and check the Arabic layout, translation, and audio on your device.
  2. Session two: return to the same place with a small daily target. Notice how much setup you need before reading.
  3. Session three: try the feature you actually care about, such as Yawm vocabulary practice or Quranly’s family features. Confirm its current availability and cost.
