Your daily Quran habit

Make a little Quran part of every day

Yawm is a daily Quran habit app built to make reading easier to begin and more rewarding to return to. Set a small goal, follow your streak, and keep the next session close with reminders and widgets. On supported iPhone and iPad devices, you can also put reading before selected distracting apps. Yawm is currently free and ad-free on iOS and Android.

Start with a goal that fits an ordinary day

Choose a time-based daily reading goal, starting from one minute. A short goal gives you a clear answer to “What should I do now?” without turning a busy day into a catch-up task. Keep reading at your own pace and increase the target when you want more time.

Yawm has a base reading threshold that secures the day’s streak and a full daily goal with a bonus streak boost. Those are two different milestones. You can see progress during the session and return to your saved reading place next time.

See the small sessions adding up

Reading sessions, streaks, and Quran progress help you see where you have spent time and what you have read. Use your Surah-by-Surah progress to choose a next passage, or simply continue from your reading place.

Progress can make a small session feel satisfying, but the number is a record of activity. If you miss a day, return with a session that fits today. The aim is to keep reading approachable rather than make the streak another reason to postpone it.

Keep a reminder where you will see it

In Settings → Notifications, enable daily reading reminders and choose a time that fits your day. Yawm also offers Friday Al-Kahf reminders. Notifications require your device’s permission, and you can change the reminder types in Settings.

Add an Ayah of the Day or streak widget for a visible prompt without first opening the app. On iPhone and iPad, widgets are available for the Home Screen and Lock Screen. On Android, use the Home Screen widgets; Lock Screen support depends on the device and launcher.

Try one useful prompt first. A streak widget may be enough if you check your Home Screen often; a timed reminder may suit a routine tied to a specific part of the day. Widgets refresh under your device’s system rules, so a change may take a little time to appear.

Put your reading before distracting apps

Yawm’s optional app blocker is available on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 16 or later. In Settings → App blocking, grant Screen Time permission, choose the apps or categories you want to block, and keep a daily reading goal enabled.

Selected apps stay blocked until you earn today’s base reading streak. They unlock for the rest of the day, with the block returning for the next day’s reading. The base streak is a smaller reading target than the full daily goal, and its duration depends on the goal you choose.

You choose whether to use blocking and which apps to include. It is a way to make reading the next step before familiar distractions. The app blocker is not available on Android; Android readers can use Yawm’s goals, reminders, and Home Screen widgets.

Make the next session something you want to open

Comfort matters too. Choose your reader view, Arabic script, translation, and recitation before the next session. Download your reading content for offline use if you often read on a commute. A wide iPad landscape window can show a two-page Mushaf spread in Page view.

When you want a little variety, finish with a short vocabulary game from the verses you read. Matching, audio questions, recall practice, and spaced repetition give you ways to revisit words across sessions. Quiz meanings currently use English and quizzes need an internet connection.

Set up your next reading session

  1. Install Yawm, choose a comfortable reader setup, and pick a small daily goal.
  2. Choose one prompt: a daily reminder, an Ayah widget, or a streak widget.
  3. If you want it on a supported iPhone or iPad, enable app blocking and choose your distracting apps.
  4. Read from your current place. Add a vocabulary activity when you have time and a connection.

Common questions

Can I start with one minute of Quran reading?

Yes. Yawm allows a daily reading goal starting from one minute. Choose a target that fits your day and adjust it when you want a longer session.

Does the Quran app blocker work on Android?

No. Yawm’s app blocker uses Apple Screen Time on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 16 or later. Goals, streaks, reminders, and Home Screen widgets are available for Android readers.

Do I have to finish my whole daily goal to unblock apps?

No. Selected apps unlock when you earn today’s base reading streak. That threshold is separate from completing the full daily goal.

Which Yawm widgets can I add?

Ayah of the Day and streak widgets are available on iPhone and iPad Home and Lock Screens and on Android Home Screens. Android Lock Screen support depends on your device and launcher.
