What the two milestones mean
A daily target can make the next action concrete, but a single finish line can also make a busy day feel all-or-nothing. Yawm shows a smaller reading threshold within the full goal. You can earn that base streak, then decide whether to keep reading toward the longer target.
The golden full-goal celebration marks reaching the chosen reading time. Optional vocabulary activity is another part of the experience; you do not have to complete a quiz to reach the reading threshold or unlock selected apps.
Use reading history and the weekly view to see which dates you read. Treat a bonus as an additional milestone, not another calendar day of reading. The time target is a practical setting, not a claim about how much attention or understanding a session contained.
Examples of the smaller reading threshold
These are Yawm’s preset reading thresholds, checked against the app’s goal rules. Custom goals use their own calculated threshold. Read the smaller reading requirement shown for your chosen goal instead of assuming every target has the same minimum.
A one-minute goal is available if that is the full session you want to plan. The examples describe time tracking, not a required number of verses. Keep your own reading pace and use a comfortable text size.

| Daily goal | Base reading streak | Full-goal bonus |
|---|---|---|
| 1 minute | 30 seconds of reading | 1 minute of reading |
| 3 minutes | 1 minute of reading | 3 minutes of reading |
| 5 minutes | 2 minutes of reading | 5 minutes of reading |
| 10 minutes | 3 minutes of reading | 10 minutes of reading |
| 15 minutes | 5 minutes of reading | 15 minutes of reading |
A five-minute goal on two different days
On a busy Tuesday, you start the session and read for two minutes. Yawm reaches the base threshold, so today’s reading streak is earned. You can finish there. If optional app blocking is configured, that is also the reading milestone used to unlock your selected apps.
On Wednesday, you read for the full five minutes. You pass the same base threshold and continue to the golden full-goal bonus. The session is longer because you had the time; Tuesday did not need to become a catch-up task.
If you want vocabulary practice afterward, use an available activity connected to the reading. Quizzes need internet and currently use English meanings. Keeping practice optional makes it easier to distinguish reading progress from a separate learning activity.
Choose a target you can use on an ordinary day
Make the reading setup easy before making the target longer. Choosing one reader view, translation, and next passage can remove more friction than adding another ten minutes to the goal.
- Open Settings → Daily reading goal and choose a small time target.
- Notice the displayed requirement for keeping your reading streak.
- Start or resume the reading session and use its pause/resume controls when appropriate.
- Watch for the base-streak milestone. Continue toward the full goal when you want a longer session.
- Review the routine after a week. Adjust the target to fit your schedule rather than comparing it with someone else’s pace.
If a day is missed or progress looks wrong
Return to a session that fits today. Do not turn a missed session into a requirement to read twice as long tomorrow. A streak is useful when it helps you return; it should not become a reason to avoid the reader.
If you expected a milestone and did not see it, check that the reading session was started or resumed, the timer was active, and the goal shown is the one you intended. Compare the recorded reading in Yawm before relying only on a widget that may update later.
For a persistent discrepancy, contact support with the date, your device and app version, the selected goal, and the reading time shown. Do not erase the app’s data to try to repair a number before asking for help.
Common questions
How long do I need to read to earn my Yawm streak?
The base reading threshold depends on the goal you choose. Examples include 30 seconds for a one-minute goal, two minutes for a five-minute goal, and three minutes for a ten-minute goal. Check the requirement displayed in your app.
What is the golden streak or bonus goal?
The golden goal bonus marks completion of the full daily reading target. It is separate from the smaller base reading threshold and should not be interpreted as another calendar day of reading.
Do I have to finish a vocabulary quiz to earn my reading streak?
No. Reading progress determines the base reading threshold and full reading goal. Vocabulary activities are optional, separate practice.
